Objectives

To develop improved travel forecasting procedures to help the States and Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPO's) satisfy ISTEA and Clean Air Act requirements. These improvements will help States and MPO's plan better, more efficient and cost-effective transportation facilities and services, thereby saving both construction costs and motor vehicle operating costs as well as improving air quality.
