Objectives

The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center, CRREL, proposes to develop, demonstrate, and document a cost-effective technology to permit the reliable and durable emplacement of unheated concrete in subfreezing temperatures. The objective is to provide clearly defined procedures that allow a transportation agency to specify antifreeze-protected concrete with confidence and minimum cost penalty. The procedures will include formulations that use admixtures obtainable from usual commercial sources.

Comments

An interagency agreement was executed between FHWA and CRREL to transfer the State funds to CRREL so it may perform the research.
