The purpose of this study is to pool regional resources to conduct research and develop improved methods of dealing with problems in planning, design, construction, maintenance, management and operation of transportation systems of common concern to the four Northwest states.
To address high priority transportation research topics of common interest to the four Northwest states and for which expertise exists in the four University Transportation Centers (UTC)in these same states.
The focus of the first RFP is yet to be determined, but interest is strong is environmental topics related to water quality and habitat connectivity, freight issues, highway infrastructure issues, and traffic simulation models.
Minimum state commitment is $25,000.
