Study Description
Objectives
To determine the relative importance of deep-freezing versus multiple shallow freezes on the performance of flexible pavements. The project will also investigate various mechanisms that states have used in their designs to mitigate against the freeze issues and make recommendations on the most successful strategies.
Comments
Study panel met during TRB in January 2002. Project statement is being defined now in conjunction with the development of a task order contract. (2/7/02)
