Objectives

(1) To monitor the changes in parameters affecting the material properties (e.g., temperature, moisture content, state of moisture). (2) To estimate the material properties during various time periods by back calculation of deflection data. (3) To compare the back calculated moduli with those obtained from the FHWA Integrated Model for climatic effects on pavement. (updated 6/22/01)

Comments

COMPLETE. Final report "Characterizing Season Variations in Pavement Material Properties for Use in a Mechanistic-Empirical Design Procedure," by Ovik, Birgisson and Newcomb, published by the Minnesota Department of Transportation, Office of Research Administration, 20 Ford Building Mail Stop 330, 117 University Avenue, St. Paul, MN, 55155. Report made available September 1999. (updated 6/22/01)
