Objectives

The purpose of this study is to implement the most cost-effective techniques for improving bridge deck life through the reduction of cracking. The work involves cooperation between state departments of transportation, cement companies, contractors and designers.

Scope of Work

See attached solicitation document.

Comments

A minimum contribution of $70,000 is requested from each partner. The contribution may be committed over several fiscal years. The KU Transportation Research Institute has committed an additional $500,000, and BASF Construction Chemicals and the Silica Fume Association have each pledged $50,000, bringing total project funding to over $1.5M.
